This un-rimmed plate depicts the sea witch of Billingsgate, an island off of cape cod that no longer exists. She had a cat and a one-eyed goat as familiars and some say she was the lover of the famous pirate, Black Sam Bellamy. The inscription reads, "the sea witch of Billingsgate; the mutinous wind; the timeless sea". This plate is hump molded with a special undercut foot ring which facilitates wall hanging without extra hardware.
