The Green Man, also known as Jack in the Green, Puck, and the Old Man of the Woods, is an archetypal symbol found all over Western Europe and in parts of Asia and North Africa. He is a potent ancient symbol with a universal appeal; a life force which wards off evil and speaks directly to our relationship with the natural world. Since 3000 BC he has been hiding in manuscripts and watching over us from the roofs, ceilings and entryways of great cathedrals. Perhaps this wondrous and mysterious being will help heal our polluted, overstressed world. We only need to stop and listen.

This greenman is entirely hand made with applied leaves and slip trailed spirals. It's made from a buff colored clay and has been "antiqued" with a dark colored clay. It comes with a leather strap for hanging.
