The mermaid, bird and heart pattern in sgraffito into a traditional red clay body is based on Pennsylvannia German Fraktur art from the 18th Century; with special thanks to Georg Friederich Speyer for his wonderful mermaids and birds and Friederich Krebs for his florals. This rimless plate is hump molded with a specially thrown foot ring that facilitates simple and easy wall hanging.
