The mermaids, moon, and fish pattern in sgraffito into a traditional red clay body is based on Pennsylvannia German Fraktur art from the 18th Century; with special thanks to Georg Friederich Speyer for his wonderful animals and mermaids, John Van Minian for his celestial images and Friederich Krebs for his florals. This rimless plate is hump molded with a coggled rim and a traditional unglazed back.
